Course details

An eight-week course that will focus will be on performance styles which are marginalized by mainstream theatre, for example, Live art (experimental theatre), movement-based practices and devising. Framing it within a contemporary context we trust it will give them a new outlook on what is and can be considered as theatre. The performance laboratory is where we will be encouraged to find our own path under the guidance of our tutors. This will be extremely beneficial in beginning to perceive themselves as independent artists.

The performance Laboratory is designed as a preliminary introduction to artforms, contemporary practices and topics encountered at university; it will be great for those who are considering studying at this level in the future. The sessions aim to nurture participants into independent artists by approaching performance making in relation to a range of perspectives from twentieth and twenty-first century thinking. They will also engage with a several methodologies, practical investigations and explorations used by contemporary practitioners.
