SHATTERED SILENCE: Tilehurst’s spoken word film project

Attention aspiring performers, dancers, singers, spoken word artists, wordsmiths and creatives! We are seeking talented individuals from Tilehurst and especially from Birch Copse, Calcot, Denefield and Westwood to audition for our upcoming spoken word filming project. All you have to do is submit a self-tape of yourself performing a monologue, dance, poetry or something creative & unique.
We're looking for young people between the ages of 13-18 who can bring their own unique perspective and experiences to the project. We are running four workshop sessions exploring the impact of social media, body image and healthy relationships. This will end in two days of filming spoken word pieces inspired by artists George the Poet, Kae Tempest and Suli Breaks.
Thanks to Tilehurst Parish Council the course fees are heavily subsidised and only a price busting £20 for the 5 weeks.
We welcome all levels of experience and backgrounds. So, if you have a passion for performing, storytelling or the written word and want to be part of a project, we want to hear from you.
We're looking for individuals who can bring authenticity to their performances and have the desire to create meaningful content. Please come with 45 second piece of dance, rap, spoken word or monologue prepared.
